Houses of Parliament

Mr Michael organised a special trip to the Houses of Parliament for some of our Year 6 pupils. The children had to write a letter to explain why they thought they should be given a place and then Mr Michael help us to choose. The children put across some convincing arguments: some talked about women's votes, others discussed family connections with Westminster and some also talked about the importance of democracy. We had  a tour when we arrived and got to visit the House of Lords. After lunch, we met our local MP - Sojan Joseph - and we asked him many questions about his job and his ideas...

Angora Class litter pick

Angora class had a bin-credible afternoon with Jolene from County Style Recyling learning about litter.  We learned about the effects of litter on the environment and thought about what we can do to encourage others to reduce littering.  We then went litter hunt where we litter-ally found lots of rubbish hiding in bushes and fences around the school perimeter!  To raise awareness of littering we created our own posters to display around the school environment.

Billy class - Environmental project

Billy Class have really loved being outside for the first session of our whole school environmental projects. They were amazed to see what our nature cameras have spotted and could identify lots of different night time animals. We went for a walk around our school grounds, learning how to look after each area respectively, listening to the different sounds outside and collected different natural objects such as leaves, twigs and stones.

Billy Class go on their first school trip

In Term 1, Billy Class went on their first school trip to Godinton House. They travelled on our school minibus which they thought was great fun. At Godinton House,  Helen showed us around the lovely dining room and the Great Hall. They also visited the gardens to see what was grown there - they were amazed by the size of some of the vegetables!
